Mawlānā Shaykh Muḥammad Adil ar-Rabbānī قَدَّسَ اللهُ سِرَّهُ

Mawlānā Shaykh Muḥammad Adil ar-Rabbānī قَدَّسَ اللهُ سِرَّهُ is the 41st Imām of the Most Distinguished Naqshbandī Ṭarīqah, continuing the way of his father, Mawlānā Shaykh Muḥammad Nāẓim Adil al-Ḥaqqānī قَدَّسَ اللهُ سِرَّهُ, from Akbaba Dergah in Istanbul.

Almost every day after Fajr, Mawlānā gives a Soḥbah — a gathering in which the heart is addressed before the mind. The talks are short, plain and practical: on the ego, on patience, on adab, on holding to the sunnah of our Prophet ﷺ in a distracted age. Each one is transcribed and translated into English, Arabic, Turkish, Russian, Italian, Dutch and more so that murīds everywhere can read the same words on the same day.

Ṭarīqatunā ṣ-ṣuḥbah wa l-khayru fī l-jam‘iyyah

“Our way is the way of ṣuḥbah, and goodness is in the gathering.”

The Naqshbandī way

The Naqshbandī Ṭarīqah traces its silsila from our Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ through Sayyidinā Abū Bakr aṣ-Ṣiddīq رضي الله عنه, and is known for silent dhikr, strict adherence to the sharī‘ah, and companionship with a living shaykh. Its method is not withdrawal from the world but presence within it: to be outwardly with the people and inwardly with Allah ﷻ.
